Welcome to another year of club volleyball! We're excited to introduce several new changes that will be coming to the club this season. We feel these developments will positively impact the club and are enthusiastic for what the future holds in store.
First, we are happy to announce that Firebird Volleyball Club is transitioning to become Strive Volleyball Club. Our aim with Strive is that all members of the club - players, parents, staff - will strive for their best in all areas of their lives and through volleyball, develop their margins for excellence physically, emotionally, and mentally. We will focus on fostering environments and creating players that are team-first, process-oriented, and centered on long-term growth.
Secondly, we would like to introduce John Crinion as the new Director for Strive. John is currently the Head Varsity Coach at Reservoir High School and has coached in the CHRVA Region since 2010. He brings a wealth of knowledge for skill development and strategic implementation, but more importantly, is incredibly passionate about growing the game with anyone interested in learning. John has prior experience assisting at Johns Hopkins University (2011, 2012, 2013) and playing on the All-Air Force Men's volleyball team (2009, 2010) and Stevenson University's Men's varsity team (2012, 2013). We feel very fortunate having John lead the helm as Strive begins it's newest chapter!
We will be holding an information session for returning and interested players and parents to introduce many of the structural and cultural changes that will occur this year. We will also introduce the coaching staff and field any questions you may have about the club. The information session is scheduled for:
We will be holding a pre-tryout clinic series this season. The High Performance clinics will review all the essential volleyball skills before heading into the tryout season. We will also be holding shorter, positional/skill-specific sessions before the tryout season opens. Details for the sessions are as follows:
